Re: side trim problem.
The body side moldings are installed with double sided adhesive tape. So yes you can remove them without damaging the paint. Just peel them off. The problem is the adhesive that they are installed with is hard to remove from the truck. Your best bet is to get what is called a erasure wheel from a automotive paint store or oreily auto parts store. It will install on a electric drill and will remove the adhesive ( be sure to clean the dirt off the paint first) , use the drill on slow speed & take your time. You will need to polish off the residue when your done. Hope this helps. The only time this is a BAD idea is if the truck has been repaired or repainted without removing the moldings. James.

Re: side trim problem.
Agree with above post. I heated mine with a heat gun and pulled them off. Eraser wheel on a drill got the old tape off. A little adhesive remover followed by a hand polish and some wax got it done.

Re: side trim problem.
Pull them off when it is cold outside. It may leave some of the tape but not near as much as when you pull them on a hot day. I have pulled of more than 100 of them to replace them at the dealer. David

Re: side trim problem.
What type of hand polish or wax do you recommend to use. Im getting ready to pull the discolored side trim off of my 04' silverado.
