Hooking up my trans cooler and need to know which is return line and which is output line? Getting closer to firing this motor up and now doing all the small things.

This may be a dumb question, but what difference does it make? Don't they both go to the radiator, and why should the position on the radiator make a difference (straight through isn't it)?

Thought the very same thing - and I'll bet it doesn't. The radiator I bought had "inlet" and "outlet" stamped next to the fittings and the only way I got it straight was one hard-line had a huge switch-back bend in it, and it would only go to the fitting on the passenger side of the radiator.

Seems to be a lot of hooey.

Why directional? The trans thermostat that I'm installing has to be mounted according to in/out. Thermostat opens at either 180 or 190 degrees. This thermostat prevents the trans oil to get too cool and give shift problems.
Notice I'm from Arizona and its a little silly to think that anything gets "too cool" especially this time of year but this truck will spend most time in the mountains where it does get cool.
Thanks for the help
Bob
