Dust Caps for GMC 250????

I have a GMC 250 with 19.5 inch rims and extensions hubs from the brake drum (not sure if this is what is on all 250). Does any one know if someone sells reproductions of the dust caps?

I have a 1950 250 with the big hub extensions and just went to 19.5 one piece wheels. Have not started working on the hubs or brakes yet. Please let me know what I have to look out for?:uhmk:

Hello, I am in the same boat. I just started working on my truck. I had to run some new brake line, which was not a problem. I then went to pull apart the front drums to inspect the pads and could not get the dust cap off, even with heat. SO it would appear that I may have to destroy the dust cap to get any further, but I want to have new ones ready to put back on. The reproduction catalog that I have does not list them, so I am trying to find out who does. If you find new ones, please let me know.

Do a search for bigbolts for 1 ton and up advance design GM trucks, a wealth of ideas and tips, also stovebolts to.......:gmc2:

We sell dust caps for GM vehicles but not sure exactly what yours is. Can you measure it and/or get a pic. We may have some old ones around. I know they have a wider lip on them

Some of those larger caps were threaded and screwed in and out.

MBGMike, thanks for the post, here are some pictures. According to the shop manual they are regular (not screwed in, but that of course is yet to be seen until I can get one out.) They do have a hex on the outside which measures 1.88 inches flat to flat where you could put a wrench. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Those are the screw in type. Put an adjustable on them and turn them out.

Yeah those are the screw on type like they used way back in the 20's and 30's up to some point on cars and trucks. They are usuallly fine thread. I have an old one floating around here. I had totally forgot about them
