what crank do you have? pistons? rods? iron heads with small valves don't really help things with a 9:1..

or a vac. secondary carb..

Any time you want to make some HP never Run hyperutectic.
Go Forged with a good skirt.
looks to me around a 365 Hp+ motor

All the GM small block rods are forged. The 'almost' exception is the powered metal rods. That process doesn't actually qualify as a true forging, but it isn't cast either. I though you found some super cheepie crazy imported cast rod was why I asked.

As you were already cautioned, don't even think about boost or nitrous with hypereutectic pistons. The will turn back to sand in the blink of an eye under detonation.

I've ran cast 350 cranks to 7600rpm in a 400-425HP nitrous boosted small block, using GM X rods w/ ARP bolts. Went through nearly 400 pounds of nitrous on that poor little motor. Then sold it to a guy who is still racing it in a shoebox Nova. The cast crank is an incredibilly durable piece IF the assembly is balanced an oiled properly.

oh... IMO, whomever is telling you they can get a 20% increase on a set of GM stock heads with porting,, is being a little optimistic. Maybe in a very very well developed cnc program. But the cost would be waranted only in a class that dictated a stock casting,, again just IMO

see bro.. i warned yas!
diddnt know about that style of piston but, i would not turbo a mostly stock 350...
diferent pistons/rings (smaller gap set chromoly etc..) and aluminum heads (ones designed for boost)
and then you can roll....
but... if you are going to boost i wouldnt half ass it i would get a donor block (50 bucks on our abilene craigslist) with a 4 bolt main... overbore it and sleeve it (so the cylinders can handle all the pressure and fun stuff in there)
and then slowly build a motor over time (spare time you got a few years) and then. go with a good efi system from a newwer truck etc...
and make dang sure its an OBDII system so you can computer tune and control everything..


in my experience.. and watching friends with money do it.. (lucky jerks) it will cost 7-9 grand total for turbo, motor all parts...
and a couple o girlfriends....

you can run boost to a stock set up..

hot rod did it a couple years ago, with one of the pos 2K dollar gm long blocks.. only put 5 lbs to it.. with a VERY conservative tune.. but it's just not worth the set up and expense..

how much can the stock rods take
so if i get some forged pistons i will be fine for 7 psi

my next build will be a 6.0 with stock crank scat 4340 rods and mahle pistons this is just for now

to be brutally honest man.. the motor is a 50 dollar back yard throw together.

it's not going to put down lots of power.. and it's not gonna hold any boost, but hey it's your motor and you can do w/e you want with it.

if you can get that turbo for cheap.. wither store it for a while OR flip it on ebay for some profit...

i got the turbo for free i am going to keep it but im going to get my truck on the road and painted first
so does anyone have a hp and tq estimate
