Finally got my burb side panel vinyl!

My vinyl came in today, and it looks great.

Now my side panels will look good again, and look like they came from the factory in 1968! :metal:

Spoke with Doug, and he was pretty knowledgeable of the old stuff. So my needs were easy to explain.

what did it set you back... if you don't mind.
I wouldn't mind redoing mine... but it isn't all that bad.

It was pretty spendy, but it's cheaper than the 70 up rear cargo area repro's in catalogs. Plus I am able to do all of the panels from the same roll, so there isn't any chance of colors and grain being off from panel to panel.

$49.00 a yard. That included the faux stitching being imprinted.

I think those are the guys that are buying up all the NOS trim supplies around the country.

considering how obscure this print/color is... that's not bad at all

Re: Finally got my burb side panel vinyl!

You can now get the cargo area panels for the burbs from places like LMC, but they only carry 69 to 72 versions for around 700.00! Pretty pricey for me for just the cargo area...

My issue was that I have a not so common color, and that it's a 68 which most if not all vendors do not carry yet for the 67/68.

Yea, I was impressed with their selection of materials. They sent me samples of all vinyl and cloth options for the 67/68, and what they sent was spot on to what I was looking for.

Not only do they carry the material, they can do the embossing just like the factory did. I took detailed pictures with measurements to him, and he just responded "not a problem". (Refreshing to hear for me these days).

He said they have the documentation for most embossing, but said that detailed pictures are appreciated so that there are no misunderstandings.

OH for $700 bones I can make the panels and buy the right color material from SMS, I too have an oddish color, TOOTHPASTE GREEN! I may go to a different color and or material, but knowing SMS has my back I may stockish appearing inside, heck I may have my late model seats covered with factory appearing materials, that would be cool late model integrated seat belt buckets in toothpaste green!! Yeah baby!
