1953 chassis swap

I am in need of some advice. I am looking at a 1985 blazer so buy and put my truck on top of. I am aware that the wheel bases will not be the same and that i would have to cut the bed to make it fit. My question is how hard would this swap be and could i use pretty much everything off of the truck on my truck? I am going to look at the blazer sometime tonight. So any answers before that would be awesome.

Re: 1953 chassis swap

You should be able to use most of the stuff from the blazer. Search around for s10 swaps and see what all they used. I know that there are a few guys that used almost everything. And cutting down the bed isn't hard to do.

new question

i passed on the blazer cause of the ifs front end. i am looking to lift my 53 instead of lowering it. my question is what frame has a solid front axle that i can put under the truck?

Are you looking for 4wd or 2wd (blazers come both ways)? By solid axle I assume you mean driven not tube or Ibeam?? If it is 4wd just do a search for "4wd conversion" and a bunch of previous threads will pop up.

Re: 1953 chassis swap

you can lift a blazer with IFS that is 4wd. Most late model chevys that are 4x4 are ifs. they lift easy and I understand that they handle better after the lift.
