What spare to use when running 20's ?

Hey all

I was wondering what you guys with 5 lug 20's are carrying around for a
spare. That is for those of you who actually keep a spare.

What size wheel and tire are you using?

I would like to have one when on the road, just in case, and don't really like
the idea of filling the tire up with that slimy stuff in fix a flat.

help.

BTW - I have a blazer tank on my truck, so wheel would ride in the bed.

You could go with a matching wheel and tire and get an in-bed spare mount. Or if you wanted to go the cheap route get a 15" steely and any brand tire that is the same over all height and toss it in the back and roll. Just a few thoughts

Yeah, the cheapest route is the 15 that matches the diameter.

You could hit up ebay for single wheels...sometimes they have some on there, like this for example... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20-CH...Q5fAccessories

They can sometimes be reasonable...then find a used tire at a local shop and you aren't in too deep.

I am pretty sure Dodge Rams 20 inch spare steelie fits as well, for a "true" 20 inch spare. Seems they are becoming pretty popular these days though for guys wanting to run over-sized steel rims, so I am not sure how easy they would be to find. Could call some wrecking yards, tire shops, or even dodge dealerships in the area. Somebody on here has a bagged project that they are using those wheels on...I believe....

Or just get AAA...they come pick you up on a flatbed! :metal:

I got a 16" spare tire off a later fill size truck. I used it do to the fact that to run some 15" wheel you have to cut you lower control arms. That would suck to do on the side of the road... What ever you get for a spare give it a try before you need it.

I thought about this, but it appears they are a different bolt pattern, and the guys running them are using adapters.
