hey everybody my name is jared and im from a small town in south GA. I inherited my grandfathers 79 C10 longbed a few months ago after he passed away. Well it has an inline 6, 3 on the tree, all original cause he used it for a farm truck. well now i have it and i have a prob. I'm no mechanic but i want to scrap the inline and get a regular 350 with a 5 speed cause im getting rid of my 05 mazda 6 and I want to use the c10 as a daily driver. Well I know NOTHING about transmissions. So im looking for a 5-speed trany, not a racing trans just a regular 5-speed that'll go with the 350. Ive looked on Summit, Jegs, and a few more that I can't think of. So if you have any advice PLEASE let me know and its gonna be great being a member of this Chevy and GMC forum. thanks
