help a new guy

Hey everybody - first post. Just bought a 69 C10 and I'm starting to go through it. My headlights are inop (all other lights work) and I want to try some of the tips I've seen on the forum. Silly question - How do I get the knob off the headlight and wiper switches so I can remove the instrument cluster?

Thanks, looking forward to learning a lot from all of you!

Unhook the battery, pull the light switch to the on position, reach up behind the dash and there is a little button on top of the headlight switch, press down and pull the light switch knob out. There's a set screw on the wiper knob to remove it. The chrome bezels unscrew.

First of all: Welcome to the board.

You are not the first one asking that.
I picked this answer from another thread, answererd by member: too much stuff.

"Pull the knob out, reach up under the dash and on top of the actual headlight switch will be a small button. Push that down while you are pulling it out. Just remember, your headlights will be on if the battery is still connected."

Sometimes it takes some work getting it out. Don't be afraid to pull hard and swear at it.

Thanks, even more good tips - especially yanking and swearing at it. already did new bulbs and stomped all over the dimmer switch so now I'm looking at the switch.
