Mirror cracking door metal. Repairable?

Has this happened to anyone else? Looks like the metal just cracked. Its not rusted out, just some surface rust where the paint cracked off. Live in AZ and it never rains. Pass side starting to crack now. Anyway to fix this other then getting a new door? Thanks

Weld it up and put a larger back support under the skin, if it has one at all.

Both doors on my C30 had the same thing happen to 'em. I guess the PO caught the huge west coast mirrors on stuff a lot.

The problem is they are aftermarket mirrors and probably have no inner support. Over the years vibration has fatigued the metal causing the cracks. You can fix them if you know anyone that is proficient at TIG welding. They will have to remove everything, create a patch and TIG them up. Once done you will need to add inner supprt plates to reinstall the mirrors and prevent the same thing from occuring again.

The better $olution is another door.

Well I guess I'll save up for another door. But in the mean time, I will try to put some kind of support on the pass side one before it starts looking like this. Thanks guys.
