Bdydrptk5, start of a happy ending

I have been neglecting my k5 for some time now, almost a year. So i thought it was time to give it alittle love. The plan is to paint it inside and out, then debut it at turkey drag 09' it wont be finished but much closer than it is now.

The last few months i have been talking to a friend of mine about what i would like to do to the truck and i think we have found a solution.

So last week i drove the blazer over to:

AARON'S AUTOMOTIVE AND PERFORMANCE INC <--- DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS GUY HE IS A RIP OFF
(682) 647-1606
3777 N BEACH ST , FORT WORTH , TX 76137

The plan:
tear the truck down
smooth firewall
paint
put truck back together
install 5.3/4l60e w/ cam
shorten rearend for big lip wheels
drive to turkey drag

Here a few pics so far, and dont hate the pics they are from my iphone, i didnt have my camera.

the body is going to be two tone, smoothing the fire wall and giving it an underdash a/c system. with colors close to the original (desert pearl/ and im undecided on molten bronze or blazin copper by hot hues for stripe and top.

the trim is staying off and is FOR SALE! i plan to have the trim air brushed on along with some original bonanza badges.

thanks for the kind words! i have to stay motivated now.

Here is the latest progress. The top has been worked and is in primer, the old motor is out and should be on its way to a very good home soon.

i pulled out the new motor and cleaned it up real well then got it taped up and sprayed with nothing but the best, chevy orange!!

enjoy:

And I know what your talking about with the firewall, It took me a long time to get that off. I little help from a grinder did it..

Wet it with tar and grease remover (or 3M adhesive remover) and let it soak for a minute. Follow up with a scraper. Repeat as necessary.

I too have been following your Blazer, even from the transformation from 4WD. Looks like it is going to be slick when it is finished.

Here are a few updates for you.

The firewall is being filled and smoothed along with welding up some holes in the body, one major dent in the tail gate came out really good. And for what your all waiting for pics:

I just got done with the welding part of smoothing my firewall. It is a lot more work than it looks like. I'm interested to see what you'll do.
