Removing Spot-Welded AshTray
I have a '71 GMC Jimmy with a spot-welded-in ash tray. I want to replace it with a 4-screw-in/ball bearing model after my 117# German Shepherd put his paw on it and broke the plastic slide trying to scramble around during some tight turns. Are the spot welds in the same places as the screw holes?

Re: Removing Spot-Welded AshTray
why not just install new slides?

Re: Removing Spot-Welded AshTray
I think once you get the heater controls out you can cut the spot welds out from the backside. I would have to see it compared to the one you want to install to be sure.
PM me for my number. Maybe I can drive up your way and take a look. D |
