quick question about starters

ok the block im using my my V8 swap in my S10 is from a 75-77 K5 blazer. 4 bolt mains blah blah all that stuff. its a 350. It looks like there are three mounting holes for a starter to where i could use either a straight bolt pattern or an offset. the mini starter i was looking at has the straight across bolt pattern. will this bolt up to it? Thank you in advance

Re: quick question about starters

It has two differant patterns because there is two differant diameter flexplates. i forget the tooth count. most trucks ive seen have the big flexplates. most aftermaket starters ive used have four holes inline for using both flexplates. GM used a inline or a staggerd i think the inline is for the big one

Re: quick question about starters

so would i be okay to go ahead and get the inline one? or should i just count the teeth and go from there. and i believe it was 153 and 168. something like that

Re: quick question about starters

Does the one your looking at have the four holes? 153 168 sounds right. On my old school stuff i use a small flexplate and a starter from a 92-96 LT1 corvette there reduction type built by nippon denso and very reliable no heat soak & crap like that
