New Guy with 1972 C10 project
Hey everybody, just an new guys checking in. I do have a current project that I need some assistance with. I have a 1972 c10 long bed and I swapped out the 307 with a brand new 327 crate motor that has been built to almost 400hp. I'm currently putting a 700r4 behind it and I need to know some ideas on a drive shaft. I have seen the postings about using an 88 or newer drive shaft but I need to know what kind of vehicle to get it out of. Anyone had the same problem and figured it out? Thanks for the help! "Monty"

Thanks for the welcome! I can't seem to load up a picture of my truck due to a security issue. Anyone have the same problem?

Re: New Guy with 1972 C10 project
Welcome from Central VA. I am not sure on the driveshaft, but with the pictures, you can either set up a free online account (photobucket is good) and then link the pictures using the little yellow square with the mountains and sun picture in it. Or, you can download them from your computer by post reply and using the paperclip icon......however if they are too large of files you will have to limit the size to the listed size. That is usually why you get the security token. Photobucket is an easier way with larger pictures, more you can put per post, and saves room on this server to make the board faster.

Re: New Guy with 1972 C10 project
History of this project is that I had the stock engine (307) and a three on the tree. Had my brother in law in Mexico paint it Candy Mandarin with flames down the side. Well Arizona heat took care of the paint and started to fade after 1 1/2 years of sun light. Cure was to send it back to paint and go with regular paint. For the motor I purchased a 1968 327 that has never been run. I have the original crate it came in and the original purchase order. The guy I bought it from is a retired mechanic and he took the original parts out and built this thing to what should be almost 400hp and I have a 700r4 stuck behind it. I'm going to try to post some pictures so I hope this works. Thanks for the advice on the pictures and getting them loaded to the site. Let me give it a try. If the pictures load there will be 3 trucks. The orange one is agent orange and what my truck looked like a few months ago. The grey truck is my son's 69 with a 350. He is in Iraq so I get to drive that nice machine. Last but not least, my truck and current project which is the yellow and black one. Currently my 2007 Suzuki M109R is in the paint shop with the same paint scheme as my yellow truck. OK, still can't load pictures but I will work on it tonight.......Monty
