Re: Control Arm - Bolt Size

I just removed the shafts from my 68' about 2 hrs ago. I tried looking for a socket at a local place but they didn't have the right size. I ended up using a pipe wrench. Both sets of control arms where off the truck when I started. To remove the lowers I bolted them back onto the truck. That way the pin will keep them from rotating while I wrench off the caps. Let me tell ya, those suckers were on there!! I had to put a cheater bar on the pipe wrench to get them to turn. The uppers I put into a vice since they are smaller and easier to work with. Still they were a ***** to get off.
