Favorite carpet/seat belt suppliers?

I was going to put a new black mat in my truck to match the original. Seeing that they are $85 and I figure carpet might be had for $120 it makes more sense to do that.

I have my original seat belts, but want three rather than two. I know a new one would stand out like a sore thumb with the old.

Who do you guys use for suppliers?

Iv'e used www.julianos.com on a few projects. Make sure if on a bench set that you order long enough belt lengths, they offer different lengths.

I've used seatbeltsplus.com before and had great luck with them. Some colors are special order, but they have quite a few in stock. Quick shipping also.

I used these guys and got the classic style belts and shoulder harness, for three passengers.

Re: Favorite carpet/seat belt suppliers?

Thanks guys. I used the gotbelts as I liked the option of a buckle that looks very close to my factory ones. I cleaned them up real nice last night and its too bad, I think I could have used them, except one had a little bit of tearing in the webbing. I didn't want it to be visible on the drivers side, but I didn't want to ask a passenger (my wife) to use one that might have been inferior. I also wanted to add a third one and at least this way they will match.

If their colors are true, the belts I ordered should look just like mine. I'll post a pic of the old ones on the seat.

Thanks again!!

What length were your original ones? Gotbelts offers them in 60" / 75" / or 90".

I have already ordered them from seat belt pros....but they sure are slow. they say because I picked a certain clasp, they are custom, and takes a minimum of three weeks before shipped...going on three Friday!

I'm curious also to the original length since mine were tossed during the tear down stage.

Curt,
What did you decide on the mat?
If you haven't done anything yet. Tony (LiLred) had a low hump black rubber mat for sale a while back.

Just an fyi regarding the mat - following is an old link from another site that shows how the LMC full floor polyvinyl mat looks installed, even though he cut his in half. Something to consider if you prefer a mat to carpet.

I still have my originals in the garage. I'll measure tomorrow. although my recollection is they were shorter than the 72" ones.

As much as they want for mats, and I know they just go to the seat, I think I am gonna order some carpet from LMC

Hey JJ,

I told you I would measure these tonight. Here's what I found on my originals...my adjustable end was 42" and my fixed end was 25". That was from tip to tip of the cloth belt itself...doesn't include any buckles or hardware.

I think I ordered mine in 40" adjustable and 24" fixed lengths.

Thanks Curt,

I ordered my replacement from seatbeltpros.com on Thursday and they arrived today and I just did normal shipping!

Glad to hear it worked out! Unfortunately, I ordered a coupler that looks closer to my original ones. They call it custom. 3-4 weeks Before it ships, and they don't much seem to care if I have to wait.:lol:

I'm currently researching carpet. If carpet is just $40 more, it makes sense to me.

Whatever carpet you pick, please post photos of how it goes in and if you are happy with the results. I'm thinking of putting carpet in mine but I've seen some that really look bad installed, and don't know which are good and which aren't.

From my build link.....

Re: ol Curt Progress
I'm looking at carpets as well. I found a supplier that makes a molded carpet for our trucks, and they prefer to send you samples...something you wouldn't get from our vendors who don't specialize. I ordered the samples tonight. They are about $10 cheaper than LMC and some of the others.

Got my seat belts today, but quite disappointed in the length. The company I ordered them from doesn't have any info on their site about where to measure to and from on the lengths. I should have asked!!

Have an of you ordered (lap) belts for your truck, and if so, what length did you buy?

Ordered a set of seatbelt for my long bed on Tuesday afternoon from seatbeltpros and received them Friday the day after Thanksgiving. I ordered three belts at seventy five inches long, fire red, and chrome lift latch. Belt fit well and way happy withe fast shipment.

Re: Favorite carpet/seat belt suppliers?

Why not go with originals? I have added a center spot on several of my trucks, using factory belts. Also, there are companies that will stitch new webbing, utilizing your original clasps and inserts. Otherwise, good, used belts are the way to go, in my opinion.

Re: Favorite carpet/seat belt suppliers?

I checked with three different upholstery shops here who all told me they wouldn't touch seat belts because of the liability. :o
