67 bod on 77 frame
Does anyone have any info on changing a 2wd 67 body onto a 77 4x4 frame. Do the body mounts match up on the cab and bed? Any information and suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!:)

Welcome to the board
I'm not an expert, but I believe a 2wd cab will not work on a 4x4 frame. The 4x4 cab has a higher center hump to allow for trans and T-Case. If I'm wong, maybe someone else can shed some light on the subject.

You can cut out the floor at the hump and replace it with a high hump. Check out Mudder67's truck. It's on a later model frame.

It can be done
Chevluvr...It can be done with a lot of patience. I placed my 2WD 70 shortbed fleetside on a 76 4WD shortbed frame. You do not need to cut the rear of the cab, however, you will need to make your own front cab mounts and core support mounts. I used 3" body lift blocks under bed which lined it up perfect with the cab. There is no way around elevating the bed off of the frame unless you were to figure out a way to cut rear of cab. My cab was perfect and rust free so that was unthinkable to me. High hump cabs are only high in the front of cab and are absolutely no different behind the floorpan area. Hope you have some metal working tools (IE: grinders, drills, torch/plasma cutter and welder). I will try to get some pics posted for you asap. BadHabit.

cab mounts
i used all the 67's cab mounts and a low hump floor. did not cut the cab.

One on the important things is getting the cab mounted back away from the distributor to were you can get it out if needed. that pic up there is a front mount.

Mudder, you should
put a how to list on this swap on a web site or something! You seem to be the expert everybody asks. If i can figure out how to attach stuff i'll post the pictures you sent to me the other day.

I'd like to see the photos as well. I have a good 77 4WD frame that I'd like to stick under a older truck. What radiator support brackets did you use, 67 or mid 70's ones on the frame already? Did you have to move the rear axle? I read there is a wheel base difference between 67-72 and 73-87.

The 67 front clip is bolted right to the mounts on the frame. I can send you the pics if you pm me your addy. Never mind I just say it up there LOL. Do you want me to send them?
