What clutches do you run?

the clutch in my truck is starting to go. i have no clue what kind of clutch is in it now. my Jimmy is a granny gear four speed and four wheel drive np205 transfer case and powered by a 400 hp-ish (give or take 25 hp) 400 small block. so my question is what clutch would be best for my truck......its a daily driver and not a crawler, mud buggy but does do some occasional light four wheeling.

Do you have a part number on the Luk-Pro Gold clutch kit. I looked at one available for a 72 Blazer. The spec said the clutch disk was 11 7/8" in diameter. I measured the current disc and its 11". 11 7/8" takes the disc edge right near the mounting bolts on the flywheel. Did you have to purchase a bigger flywheel or is it different kit than the 11 7/8" . Here is the specs/PN.

Chevrolet Blazer(Full Size), C10-30, K10-30, R10-35, V10-30, Silverado, Tahoe Pro Gold Series - Luk
Part No.: 04-902
Application: PRO GOLD SERIES
Engine: 8 Cylinder
Disc Size
Outer Dia: 11 7/8
Spline: 1 1/8
Teeth: 10

Re: What clutches do you run?

When I put it in I also bought a new Hayes 30lb. flywheel and had the whole assy balanced. I would assume you would atleast need to turn your current flywheel. Any good machine shop should beable to tell you if it will work with a 12"(rounding up) clutch assy.
Sorry no part numbers availabe to share but I think the one you listed is the one I used..

Re: What clutches do you run?

I asked the machine shop before they turned the fly wheel and they said it wouldn't work. Looks like I will use a center force with a 11" disk. Thanks

I went ahead and purchased a 11" HAYS, It came with everything and was priced right. Hope it holds up...
