Blazer bed question
Does the entire blazer floor board, from behind the seats to the tailgate unbolt as a single unit? I can see cap heads running along the front that make think it might...
Has anyone unbolted a nice one and used it to replace a beatup one without cutting/welding? Thanks, Tony |

Re: Blazer bed question
I replaced mine in my jimmy with a blazer floor. Their are a few spot welds in the front corners you will have to drill out if you look close you can see them you will have to torch the welds back by the tail gate on the corners and take all the bolts out.

Re: Blazer bed question
Here are the front spot welds their is a floating plate inside the pillar and it comes out under the floor about 1" and that's where the spot welds are 5 or 6of them you should be able to see them floating plate is marked with an arrow. I drill mine out with a 3/8 flat bottom drill with a 1/8 spot drill in center of the 3/8 drill they do sell a drill for spot welds. You dont want to drill all the way throw the floating plate with a 3/8 drill just throw the floor that is why you use a flat bottom drill.

The back of the floor should have welds around both sides of the rear pillar and a weld on the tail pan behind the bottom of the tail gate. Once you get all the spot welds out of the front and the welds in the back and all the bolts it should come out. If you are going to throw the floor out just cut it across the middle and it will come out easier.
