'72 brake hoses help
I am installing a 72 c-10 disc brakes on a 69 truck. I bought front brake hoses and stainless inline tube lines a while ago. Right side brake hose has a bigger fitting where it connects to a hard line. I tryed autozone to see if they have hoses to compare but they don't. Did I get a wrong hoses or do I just need an adaptor? Inline tube kit dosn't have any adapters. Thanks

Re: '72 brake hoses help
With the correct 72 hardlines, the two fronts are different sizes thus the reason the two brake lines are different. Did you check your hard lines and are they the same?

Re: '72 brake hoses help
Went through this a few years ago when i converted my 69 with parts from a 72. Do not remember one side's fitting being bigger than the other. Maybe I got lucky and installed them on the correct side on the first try.
Autozone and Advance did not carry 72 c-10 hoses at the time. Advance suggested using hoses from a Impala/Caprice. Ended up ordering 72 c-10 brake hoses from Napa and had to wait a couple days for them to arrive. |

Re: '72 brake hoses help
Hardlines are the same. I'll try to find the adaptor. If not then I'll buy another hose for the left side.

Re: '72 brake hoses help
I ran into this years ago...The OEM hoses are different sizes (?) and the after market lines are the same size. CPP has adaptors for this.
I didn't like adaptors, so I now have my own lines made up from patterns & specs I provided. |
