key on run and
key on acc. is there a wire under the dash that works in both positions so I can hook up a radio?

Re: key on run and
In the fuse block there is a tab that you can tap into that's labeled radio. It's on with the key and acc.

Re: key on run and
well I hooked the radio memory, (aftermarket radio ) into the fuse block as suggested with a jumper and it does work with key on and acc. but I also checked to see with a test light for battery drain and, with the jumper in the radio fuse block point, it has battery drain. what I'm really seeking is a heavy gauge wire to tap into and add additional features to this wire threw a fuse block connected to a point where the wire has power with acc. and key in run position, with no battery drain, PLEASE HELP

Re: key on run and
I'm probably missing something here but if you plug a test lamp into a powered terminal and ground the other end the lamp will light up and there will be battery drain. If the bulb's lit it's a drain on the battery. Turn the key off and the drain should stop.

Re: key on run and
Radio should be dead when the key is off. Memory should goto an "always on" source.
The only other thing ran on the ACC power is the AC blower I think (My AC is half gone so I don't mess with it), and it does have some heavy gauge power to it. The FAQ here has a few detailed wiring schematics of the truck if you need them |
