air valve set ups
 

Hey guys I need some idears as to how to set up the air valves for my 67. should I mount them on a plate? what kind of brackets did you guys use?
I have 6 valves, I need to buy 2 more, im running 3/8 line all the way around, 4 dominator bags 5 gallon compressor mounted in the rear behind the blazer tankmand I gotta figure a place to mount the compressor as well. so. . . . any ideas? any pics?

I mounted my tanks and valves under the bed where the spare tire went. I mounted the valves on the tanks

that rear end end set up is nice!! I like that! I was going to do my valves that way also but Ill be running 8 off of one tank and the way its mounted, 4 valves would be sandwiched between the frame and the tank and the other 4 would be on the bottom of the tank and might get damaged when dropping , but then again maybe not. Hmm.. . I was thinking of fabbing a skid plate to protect the tank maybe I could still mount 4 valve on the tank and those be protected by said skid plate but I still need some mounting ideas 4 at LEAST four of these valves. Im stuck there.

Here is what I did with the valves for my bro's caddy. Mounted them all in the trunk on a wooden panel.

So riddle me the answer to my next dumb question... 8 valves, is that 1 fill 1 dump at each wheel (or supplying each corner) ?

Where switched - what are the most popular ways? I'm thinking basics to start - two three position switches - at center holding up = up, down = down

relayed switching?

Please discuss the 3/8 vs 1/2, I'm guessing simply a speed - up / down issue. About to order the bags and I'll need to be clear soon. :chevy::metal:

You are on the right track. Yes, 8 valves is the optimum set up. That allows four corner control and prevents air transfer between bags.

I have mine set with 5 switches. One for up/down at each corner and the 5th one for dump.

Unless you want to clown, 3/8 is plenty fast and fittings are cheaper. There is nothing wrong with a 1/2" system if you want super fast. You can put regulators on the line to slow it down if need.

that setup on the board is nice. is there a difference mounting them all in one location as opposed to mounting 2 near each bag? I thought I read somewhere that the bags react faster when the valves are closer to the bag. is that true?

That is true, valves closer to the bag will be faster because the air doesn't have to travel as far.

I used all braided stainless steel -8 lines with -8 A.N. to 1/2 n.p.t fittings from summit racing.

If I will probably do the same in the new truck

Nice set up, but where are the valves? Is that them peeking out from under the cab?

That's them, 4 on the left and 4 on the right. I have a better pic.
