Re: 71BlazerCST

will gt the pics up tomoroow os the nexr day. the last owner was very creative with aluminum trim and rivets. sort of out there, not sure what he was thinking. 350/205 combo, 12bolt, Dana 44, 3.73 rears, factory tach dash, 4in lift, nice aluminum rims, tires rough...
i did a frame off 72 back in the 90's but the rocker boxes were fine so i am new to replacing those..these look shot...i will have to read up on this repair...then its off to "project land"...s.

Re: 71BlazerCST

thanks vtblazer...the entire bottom has about a thousand rivets...even trimmed the top and bottom of the inside doors with aluminum and riveted it all...my buddy said it would be at least a 5lb spool of wire to fix them..LOL...tub looks OK for no more than i have torn back to look...i have a 69 fleetside SWB 4X4 in the works so this one will get pushed back for awhile...it was bought for no more reason than it was on the way to the crusher...i need this about like i need another hole in my head....thanks for the pics VTBLAZER

Re: 71BlazerCST

pretty much the same as the day i got it. got a 69 shortbed 4WD in the shop now. just set the engine in recently and finishing up the mechanicals before going back with body parts. so i have done pretty much nothing with the blazer since bringing it home.
it is a very workable project. it needs rocker boxes and some rocker work. the floor pans are rough on the edges but solid. the bed floor and wheel wells look good as far as i could pull the rubber mat up. top is a goner. previous owner made fiberglass repairs with body filler and it has cracked just about everywhere.
the toughest part will be the rivet repairs. this guy trimmed the blazer inside and out with sheet aluminum, and attached with rivets...i mean like hundreds, maybe even thousands...LOL...the doors are in really good shape inside and out except for the rivet repairs that will be needed.
overall, considering what is there it was well worth what ia paid, plus it was on the way to the scrap yard....i have not committed to doing the project totally as i still have a ton of $$$ left on the 69 project. scott
