Interesting phantom grill

Check this one out. It uses some of the elements of a later model phantom grill.

ocbaud 01-15-2003 09:38 PM

i've seen something like that before

low 84 01-15-2003 11:34 PM

i don't like the way they have that line made in the sheet metal that raps around the fender

I like it...looks like they flared the fenders as well. :)

I agree with Ryan. I don't like the flares but the others I like. :)

bill_ont_canada 01-16-2003 02:43 AM

Love those front Roll Pans.

79Silv4x4 01-16-2003 04:39 AM

Got a pic of the whole truck?

BigRed 01-16-2003 09:28 AM

I like it, on someone elses truck. :) Just not my first choice, but I think it looks really good. I kinda like the wrap-around lines onto the fenders.

Low87 01-16-2003 10:35 AM

The ones Low 84 showed are kits from AIM :barf:
They look good, but consider the source...

SCOTI 01-16-2003 11:48 AM

The body lines from the grille that wrap around to the sheetmetal wouldn't bother me if they actually matched the factory bodyline in the upper portion of the fender. It almost looks like an afterthought.

Izzy 01-16-2003 12:22 PM

I'll take a standard phantom for $500 Bob. :D

Dave I think you should keep your grill the way it is, just my opinion.

LOHRTBT 01-16-2003 06:26 PM

the main thing I want is the front roll pan like that...less rockchips show

LOHRTBT 01-16-2003 06:29 PM

that top one looks like ass!!!

Low87 01-16-2003 06:32 PM

79BIG10, AIM usually buys a 10+ page ad in Truckin showing some old tool in a tux top and shorts hawking his crappy excuse for custom parts. They are the true epitomy of you get what you pay for. They have notoriously horrible customer service.

79BIG10 01-16-2003 06:49 PM

Thanks for the info Low87. Never heard of them but now know to steer clear.

He's right. Bad products, horrible service and restocking fees of 30% on orders, even if they made the mistake. :read:

Those pics are way cool, i got an 83 and my grill is kinda beatup and i was thinkng of either putting a phantom type billet grill like the pics here or just swap out for a 89-91 front end which is pretty pricy....i was wondering how hard is it to actually put these grills on, do you have to take the light housing things off? Is there a good site where these grills are for sale?? please let me know...

PHOENIX 01-17-2003 01:00 PM

The phantom grill attaches just like a regular grill except it covers the head lights (right)? G-Chemist not to be confused with O-Chemist :) has done this swap along with a few other guys. G-Chemist has a whole thing about it one his site: http://www.geocities.com/abetterchemist/
