82' vin location.
 

hey guys, i bought this 82' about two months ago.
paid $700 runs great. i got the title. registered it and when i went to go smog it
they didnt wnt to do it due to there wasnt a vin on the dash nor on the door jam.

so i took it to chp, and dude told me he didnt find it in his confidential spot.
so i just need some help on where i can find the vin. i need to get the loction so i can just get this thing smogd and on the road.

any help would be entirely appreciated. thanks, Jimmy.

It should be on the drivers side dash, right behind the windshield. Is there an opening on the dash pad for it? If not, you may have the wrong dash pad installed (73-78), and the VIN is hiding behind it.

so your saying its mounted on the cab behind the dash pad, not on the dash pad itself?

It is riveted to the metal dash, underneath the dash PAD. I am saying, if it isn't there, you MAY have the wrong dash pad in the truck covering it up.

Can you post a pic of the dash pad, and perhaps a close up picture of the lower corner of your drivers side windshield...taken from outside the truck?

so i check the spot and i had to pull it nearly half back. and magially found it haha.

time to throw my fenders on there and get to smogin.
