Re: Head unit install queston
i don't have any pictures, but what i used is the din 1 slide-in that came with my stereo. I put that in the hole that someone else cut in my dash, bent the tabs down and slid the stereo in. works great.

Re: Head unit install queston
that's what i was thinking about ... something like a slide in but i got this radio from a buddy and of course it was nothing that originally came with it. i think i might go look into walmart or pepboys for a slide in tray ...
-thanks |
Re: Head unit install queston
yeah, wal mart has generic din 1 install kits. it may even come with some speaker wire and stuff for you too.

Re: Head unit install queston
Back in the old days we used about 5 or 6 inches or "plumbers tape". Not really a tape but mild steel [about 1/2" wide] with perforations every 3/4 of an inch. It comes in short rolls. A length of that goes from a bolt on the firewall up to a stud on the back of the radio set. It's used to lessen the strain on the 2 knobs, Tune and Volume, that secure to the 2 holes in the front of the dash...
