Tires for 20"x12" rim. (too much $$$$)

I ordered some Billet Specialties wheels the other day without pricing tires beforehand and all I can say is "WOW". The cheapest tires I've been able to find are $509.00 a piece. Does this sound right for a 335/30/20 ,to go on a 20"x12" rim ,or am I not looking hard enough to find a better deal?

If I do have to spend that much on tires I only have to buy two of them since I already have the new tires for the front purchased. Anybody know any place or website where tires may be a little more affordable?

tirerack has a bunch of 315-35-20 in different brands for less than 400 bucks. Tiresdirect.net has a toyo in this size for $196. they are not the size you were looking for but close.

I'm not dead set on that size, I just thought that size would look best on a 12" wheel. You guys that are suggesting 305's and 315's have any you seen those sizes on a 12" rim before? How well do they fit the rim? Got any pics?

Goodguys show is this weekend I'll be scoping out wheel and tire sizes all day:lol:. THANKS

I am not sure how low you want to go with your truck.

For my taste, I have have found you want a front tire 28 inch diameter and a rear 30 inch diameter for my application (body sitting on ground)

Im gonna run a Front 20X8.5 255/40/20
Rear 22X10 285/35/22
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!:metal:

I use a 20x12 on the rear. I have 315/35/20's they fit the rim good. I buy mine as take off's on ebay. They came stock on BMW X5's so you can find them pretty easy.

Thanks for the info, I actually decided to go with the 315/35 instead of the 335/30 just because of the price difference.

Just to throw this out there....I have a brand new set of Sportsman S/R 29x18x20's in my storage I'd let go for cheap. Not neccessarily trying to sell them but if it would help you out. I'll show you a pic of a vette with 12 in. wide wheels, same tire. I didn't see this car in person to verify wheel or tire size but this was claimed in another post. Anyway if they'll work for you pm me.

Hey rustspot,

Where is the thread on that vette. It sure looks more like a 15" tire compared to a 18" wide tire. I just ordered the 29/15/20 S/R's and that width is what I am expecting.

I didn't know they made a 29/15/20 I thought the 29/18/20 was the closest size they made for my application. If they make a 15" wide tire that would be better for my app.

Boy, I've got to get better at researching things.

The 15" wide tires are new for MT. They reccommend a min. of 13" wide wheel. I know people put them on 12" wheels but I am going to run a 13"
