We went on a fall wine tour and cruise Sunday and I had my 69 Chevelle out and all shined up. Parked in good company sitting next to a nice 71 stepside.

What a great cruiser. Looks like perfect weather for the ragtop.

Re: My Sunday driver-69 Chevelle

When the power disc brakes went on last winter,I changed all the control arm bushings and loose tie rods and new ball joints . After an alignment, that helped the driving a lot.The power steering box was from borrowed from a Olds Cutlass A body and it is officially worn out and can't adjust any more.
I have been reading on the Team Chevelle web site about up-grading to a 93-98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Saginaw/Delphi gearbox. It bolts right in place.Ya gotta love Chevys . Lots of steering advantages, stiffer steering ,no floating down the road , new car feel etc.
When I was in the Pick-A-Part junkyard today, I saw lots of Grand Cherokees waiting in the clunker line.
So the Chevelle steering is about to be changed. I am using a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee gear box, a 73-86 C-10 rag joint and a metric O-ring style power steering pressure hose from an 81 Camaro.
Check out Team Chevelle.com if anybody has a Chevelle interest.

Ya know ,I have not heard 1 person that has regretted changing to the jeep GC gearbox. Today is the day for changeover.

Greetings from Mtn Home! I met the owner of that Goat in one of the photos at Patty's Burgers Cruise Night. We only made it to one this year but met lots of nice folks...

Well hello, We never made it in to Patty's this year,We went to the Westside Drive-in cruise in the spring and one of the KFC /A&W cruises, Emmett's 50's cruise and a few small show and shines. Had a good time on Gino's winery tour. Too many shows and not enough weekends.
(there is a twin to my car around Boise, but it is a 69 SS 396) We never seem to be at the same show at the same time. It does confuse our friends!!

This is another other Sunday driver--real horsepower here. I do love fast trucks and cars but nothing compares to the adrenaline rush of a rope horse leaving the roping chute after a fast steer. My 3 year old AQHA team roping prospect.
