Made some more power today

Finally got the truck on the rollers.. What changed:

3.73's to 4.56
LS6 intake to Super Victor
Ported stock TB to Dominator with a 4150 reducer and NX 2 stage plate
Stock water pump to an electric pump

Now I just need it to cool off out side and go racing.

Cam specs? Peaks pretty high! That victor really blows past the LS6 above 6k rpm. Good work!

Re: Made some more power today

This is the same exact set up except for:

Super Vic / Domintor TB to a 4150 reducer and NX plate
Electric Water pump
4.56's vs the 3.73's

Cam is 243/250 108icl 112ecl (110lsa)

I would love to throw a different cam in it, but I can't really spend the money right now not having a job. I'd have to buy springs and push rods as well. I think there is another 20-30hp on the table if I swapped the cam and spun it to 7,500..

With the big stall you have, can you even notice a difference down low between the two because it just slips in everyday driving? If I got a 6.0 and was doing the swap in the garage i'd go for the edelbrock package with the MSD box and the vic. jr. or Performer RPM manifold. One side of me says the performer would flow more than most efi manifolds, but I haven't seen any testing done with it. The other side says take a fat ole nasty cam and run a single plain. Rev the piss out of it with a big stall because I don't have the money for cubes, boost or nitrous and cams all cost the same anyway. Both scenarios with an SMI jetted Holley, ormaybe I could squeeze 12 mpg's out of one of their quadrajets :) I'm not computer savvy and am really starting to figure this carb and mechanical ignition thing out. Added 8 degrees of initial timing to the old 350 this week after getting the rebuilt quad back and it runs like a 200 horsepower beast

If you did you computerized LS, had a wideband, I could help you get it nailed just sitting here on my couch :) All you need to do is e-mail me your tune, I make some changes and show you what they are. You upload it and go.

I wouldn't go Vic JR, they need a lot of work out of the box.. I should have put my box stock one on just to see the difference.

Yeah, but any new motor is a ways off. Still got body resto and I would have to get the trans and rear built. For now i'm saving my coin on headers and 2.5 inch duals (would go 2.25 with my wuss motor, but with crush bent that's a little small), h-pipe and some Classic Chambered mufflers, one rectangle Camaro tip right before each tire under the step. Should sound like a '69 dz 302 or 396/375 Chevelle with the chambered exhaust option and half as much compression  tweak on the quad some more to compensate for my headers and then move on to 4.10's and a tru-trac. Wouldn't be a race truck or even near a tweaked 5.3 silvy by any means, but enough to lay the smack down on many a ricer. Maybe a cheap converter if I decide to regasket the motor, it runs good enough to warrant that and a repaint. Plus my front trans seal is leaking like they all do. But my stock converter only gets up to 1300 rpm on the brake :waah:
