Used them for where the cab hit the bed. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0-05174151.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0-05174206.jpg |
Re: Something fell off my truck......
great looking project, I would avoid using the air hammer on that area of the truck, from what it looks like it does not have a big enough surface area and is streaching the shi* out of the metal, all those streach marks will add up and the metal will be hard to work..I would use a bumping dolly or a stud welder and then the old shrinking disk, where is alpine Ca?? I may have a spare hood that is better than the one you got

Re: Something fell off my truck......
you can get his hood, then cut up the one you have and send the part that holds the blinkers to me. If it's not rusted out. Mine looks like it was in a shreader.

Good start on your project. Keep the photos coming of your progress and thanks for sharing. PS - I have a few hoods with various damage, but they can be cut up for the good parts some of you guys are looking for. Send me a PM with what you need and I will reply accordingly. |

Re: Something fell off my truck......
I worked my ass off today and forgot to take the camera ! Oh well. Got the motor all back together and the core support on. I'm finding out that the cab is pushed back about a 1/4". I guess the easiest way would be to just loosen all the body bolts and line everything up then tighten down. Any suggestions ?
Should have the falcon tank in the frame rails by the weekend hopefully get it fired off ! |
Re: Something fell off my truck......
Falcon tank? I take it you're moving your tank out of the cab; what and where is your new tank going to be?

Re: Something fell off my truck......
Yah i'm bagging my wifes 60 falcon which we bought a brand new tank for. Now that its going to the ground it hangs to low so i get it. I am going to mount it right behind the rear axle in between the frame rails. Its 16 gallons so not that bad.

Re: Something fell off my truck......
Finally got the tank in and the floor cut to sit the seat on the floor. Tank came out a lot nicer than i thought it would! Getting the gears done tomorrow. Its all coming together! Here are some pics the last one is with the seat test fitted. Gave me enough room ! Its hard some times being 6'2" and 360 !

Re: Something fell off my truck......
The tank looks like an excellent solution. I like the way you stuffed it in there. Thanks for sharing and keep us posted on your progress.
