Possible new purchase - 1977 Blazer 2wd

Wanted to know what you members thought of this Craig's List find that I am going to look @ this week end. No pics on the ad but, hopefully the guy will send me some pics before I drive up there on Saturday. I haven't even finished my build on my 82' SWB and I am already looking for another project. My wife is going to kill me!!!!!!!

I have some pics that the guy's wife sent me last night. I guess we are all in the same boat right now that we can not post attachments. PM me if you like and I will send you some pics to get your input. There was more rust on my SWB than this Blazer........

Went to look @ the Blazer over the weekend and this is what I found:
- needs all new seals for removable top and rear window glass
- needs rockers on both sides as well as a new front clip
- needs patch work on the passenger bed side

The guy dropped the price to $ 200.00 so I may have to pick it up. New baby coming in Jan. so, this will have to wait until the summer

Thanks Travis. That's what I may do. I wish I could post some pics of it. I probably won't do anything to it until next summer anyway. It seems decent 2wd K5 Blazers are getting hard to find north of the Carolinas. I think it is a good deal for what is there

The front seats are hard to come buy, I think you can sell them for $150

I like the seats. I think you would make money parting the stuff you don't want, and finding a better, late model body for the frame.

Do it. You can find a better body anywhere. The factory 2wd frame is what I'd be after.

Trying to get my trailer info sorted out before I go pick up the Blazer next weekend. What do you think the estimated vehicle weight of the Blazer would be minus the motor, trans, and drive shaft? I would hate to waste money on a car trailer if I can use a car dolly for this 65 mile trip..........

Thanks,

Mike

Your Looking at 3500-3800 with out trans and motor..

That sounds a little heavy. I think a car dolly would tow it just fine.

Thanks men. You guys have been very helpful. I will start up a build page when I start working on her. I may cut short the build I had planned on my 82' SWB for the time being and focus on the Blazer. This is going to allow me to fit two car seats in the back for some weekend cruises when she is done (if I can talk my wife into it). Already have a motor for it that I was going to drop into my truck. Do you recommend a TH350 (that's what came out of it ) or a TH400? I may just end up dropping a BBC in this one.............

Re: Possible new purchase - 1977 Blazer 2wd

Picked up the Blazer today and only ended up paying $ 200 for it. Now I am on the hunt for a complete front clip and a passenger side door along with a TH350. I will start a build thread when I start working on it. It will have to wait until the summer after my 2nd daughter is born. With little two girls, hopefully one of them will be into Square bodies but only time will tell........
