Rear window conversion

I have a 78 Chevy Blazer, and it has a manual rear window, my question is how can I convert it to power without changing the tailgate?

You can buy all the insides out of a juck yard or buy it all new from LMC. I think everything is the same it's just the inside that is dif.

Re: Rear window conversion

Window regulator needs to be changed for a power version so the motor can mount to it. The outside handle needs to be swapped for a power version with the key switch. Run your 12 Volt from the fuse block rear window hookup to a 2 way toggle on the dash and run your wires from the dash to the rear gate. Drill a hole in the bottom to accomodate the wires and pass them through. (Leave enough flex in the wire for the gate. The factory wiring broke on my 87 because it was too tight) Install and wire the motor and ground it and your in business. Just a word of warning. I am not sure if the manual window regulators have a tension spring but the power ones do and I almost lost my finger to a spring snapping repairing my 87
