67-72 c10 frame swap

Does anyone have any experience, or have seen a 67-72 c10 on a 84 ck-10 frame. I found 1 that seems real nice, but i can't contact the person that did the swap. I had an 84 c10 that was a great driver. the wheel base on the 84 frame is longer but im not sure how much. Is this at all common.

I've never heard of that being done.

Take a look down in the 4x4 forum for member "Mudder". He put his on a late 70's or 80's 4by frame. It's an outstanding truck. I think there is a link to his build also.

Welcome to the board from central Ohio!
Since you said C/10 I'll assume you are actually talking 2 wheel drive.
While it can technicly be done, you don't want to. You'll have to make a body lift and jack the cab up off the chassis to make it line up with the bed.
That's on top of shortening the wheelbase/frame length, weld in body mounting procision, same for the core support... just not worth it at all.

He said 67-72 c10 on a 84 ck 10 frame and I assumed he meant K 10, 4wd. My mistake. However 2 or 4 wd makes no difference in the body mount locations. So either way Mudder's truck is still a good example for James and the only one I can think of right now.

good eye... I missed that all together.
4X4... doable... 2 wheel drive... not so much.

Re: 67-72 c10 frame swap

thanks guys. Im talking about a
2WD. I actually got to talk to the guy that did it. Sounds like it was a pain in the butt. relocated the leaf spring mounts, major fab work to remount the cab. Said some stuff didn't line up just right but it looks pretty good. you can tell the rearend is a little to far back. he said it was fine when he sold it. He thinks somebody may have messed with the shims on the pinion angle, not sure. Some stuff sounds cool, but not so sure about buying a problem. He said the original frame was so nice he wanted to use it on another build so did the swap because somebody said it would be easy. He made it sound like a nightmare. Take a look at it at traditionautosales.com. looks sweet & its cheap.
