step side wood box

I have the box off the truck and was wondering whats the best way to replace the wood.Should I do it with it off the truck or should I do it after I put in back on.Thanks.

I am not sure how others do it, but we did a '63 C-10 for my grandson with the bed on and it worked out real good.

I know some vendors have information on how to do it, but GMC Pauls is the one I remember.

i would think i'd put the bed on the truck and square it up then install the wood

I bolted all the metal together. Laid in onto the frame then installed the wood and strips.

I did mine on the frame and wished I'd done it on saw horses. It was going to be a lot of work either way, but I got the feeling that, had I pulled it off, it would have been ever so slightly easier.

I will say one thing that I found out. It is or would be a lot easier with two people doing it. Just someone to help hold things in place.
