What year rearend will fit in a 64 long bed

Just like it says. Need a new rear end, just curious what years will swap out.

Thanks in advance.

To keep track width the same, you can use up to the early 70 year model rear housings (they're also 6-lug as well). Late 1970 models are 6-lug but they started making them wider & 71-72's are wider + 5-lugs. The wider rears will still work but wheel back spacing requirements become more critical if the suspension is getting 'tweaked'.

What's wrong w/your current rear end?

It's completely shot, housing and all. Cheaper to find a whole unit most likely.

Good to see another truck from Texas.

What Scoti said is pretty point on. You would want to get on from 65-69 as they are 30 spline and stronger then the 14 spline that is in the 63-64.

Captinfab was saying there is some question about the length of the 70 rear end. I guess we need to find someone with one to measure it. maybe the wanted to change the rear in that year but had a bunch of left over from 69.

Check out www.car-parts.com There is a bunch on there right about $125-150.
