2wd to 4wd.
I Was wondering how hard it would be to switch the front suspension form my 69 c-20 2wd out to a 4wd I alreday have the trans and trnasfer case. Was wondering what will need to be done to the frame for the front axle and springs.

Re: 2wd to 4wd.
You need to remove the front leaf spring hanger on the 4wd, which is also the radiator support mount bracket, and install it on the 2wd truck. You will need to swap steering boxes, and either measure the 4wd frame and cut a hole in your 2wd frame for the shackles, or cut the whole thing out and weld it in the 2wd frame. I plan on doing the second one tomorrow on my longhorn weather permitting. You will also need a 4x4 engine crossmember out of a 67-72 4x4 frame and put it in your frame. I have one if you need one.

Re: 2wd to 4wd.
I appreciate the info thank you. I just got this truck it was my grandpa's old truck and I dont want to lower it so the next best thing is to put it in the air. Do you know if there are any lift kits 6-8" for the 2wd trucks.

Re: 2wd to 4wd.
For the 2wd trucks, I have no idea. I doubt it for the older trucks like these.

Re: 2wd to 4wd.
Hey Deisel what about the rear. Are you gonna use the hangers and suspneion form a 1 ton so you can use leafs???

Re: 2wd to 4wd.
My rear has leafs already. I am going to use the spring hangers from my donor frame because the 4wd hangers are taller than the 2wd ones.
