If you were looking for an S-10 which one would it be?

I did a search and couldn't find exactly what I needed.

I have a 55 SWB 2WD. I've read that the wheel base is 115" and a long bed S-10 is the same. What are my options for years of S-10's that I should be looking for? I have a buddy of mine keeping an eye out for one and just want to make sure my info is correct. Now, is the extended SWB S-10 wheel base the same as a LWB standard cab. My guess is that it is.

Thanks

the extended cab SWB is longer than a reg cab long box. but much easier to find at least in my area. it need to shorten it a little but its not hard many threads on it here. I would look for one with a 4.3 V6

According to AD Engineering the best to convert is a regular cab long bed. The wheel base is almost a perfect match for an AD swb. As far as the model years for the S-10 is 1982-1999. Here is their website if you want any more info http://www.ad-engineering.com/.

Alan, take a look at this:
www.PublicSurplus.com
I don't see one on there now in GA, but it's a good place to keep an eye on.
The standard cab longbeds are popular with governments. You can find some good deals there at times.

Oh yeah! Got another GA boy on here! I would definetely hold out for a 4.3L V6 though....the 2.8L has a lot less power (or so i've been told) and plus you have air conditioning which won't draw power off the motor as much as in a 2.8L....Hope this helps!
