Old School to New School Wheels

2 Attachment(s)
In another post big_al_71 got me thinking about going from "old school" to "new school" with the rims on his truck. I thought it would be cool to post pics of everyones trucks from "old school" to "new school" or vice versa...and I didn't want to hi-jack that thread. So hopefully big_al_71 will help me out by reposting here...and I will post mine to get this party started! :)

Maybe its me but I like the slots better ... the newer looks good but... the slots just match your truck better. I guess I'm just old fashioned. But you do have a sweet lookin truck and it sure would look good sitting in my driveway. IMHO

Those slots are sweet. Trying to find a set now but it's hard to find a perfect set with the right lug pattern and width. I see a lot of 14 inchers and 5 lugs and 4 lugs.

I have both versions old school and new and the more I look at the two diff trucks I like my 15s better, so I say keep the slots but just my opinion.:gmc2:

Although Im new around here.. I been into cars for forever, and have come to the conclusion that alot has to with paint. Personal perception is always the best when it comes to your own choice or anything thats going on yuor on personal truck/car, ect. But in the case thats posted here, the old schools in my opinion look better. However I think its due to the flat primer look it has right now. At some time in the future the truck gets some color on it... well I think my opinon could change depending of the style of paint... But right now that truck is looking way too fine sitting in its old school rims...

I know a lot of guys like the slots but to me they look dated unlike rallies which are timeless. Personally I feel old or new depends on how you build the truck. Hotrod with custom paint gets new school. Original look gets rallies.

The only way to improve on those slots is to polish them better.

Haha. Thanks for all the comments guys! :metal: I was hoping everyone would post their pics of "old school" and "new school", but thats cool. I do like the slots and am going to hold onto them, but I am just digging the big rims. I think I blame Purpedo...I love his trucks wheel size and stance. I am hoping to get some steelies and paint them black with whitewalls. Then I will have the best of all worlds!

Personally Im always gonna dig the old school look. Probably because that's what I grew up with.

I thought it was funny Big Al calls 17 inch TT II's old school. So I guess in reality I prefer really old school =)

Thank you very much I really appreciate the compliment...I have not seen a truck with the colors swapped but if you go in photochop section I am sure one of the guys can do it for you...

17's have been around for a long time and the slots even longer in fact I remember when I was like 8 years old my father had a brand new 1976 nova with slots on it so yes they are really old school in my book and I dont like them at all never have. I do like the rallies and I dont like anything bigger than 20's.

ephashhans was asking for people to post picts of your trucks with old style wheels and new style wheels if you have them, not wether we like one wheel or another..
