Summit Racing wheels

www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-141-5873C-19

Does anybody have these or seen a set of them. They look really sharp in the catalog and they're not horribly spendy. Just would like a little more info.

Thanks

I agree. They would look good on our trucks.

They'd look good on mine if I had 5 lugs :(

Not bad looking at all. And pretty affordable. I too wonder about the quality. Are these like most Summit branded stuff, as in re-badged versions of another brand? I like that you can get a 17" for the same sort of money. $150 a wheel isn't bad at all.

i got some summit 164 wheels for my truck, i couldnt find any markings on them from any other companies. they were straight and balanced just fine

cant beat $105 for a polished 15x10

Those look nice! So you're satisfied with the quality?

Thanks!

Re: Summit Racing wheels

yes they are rebaged, summit doesnt make anything. the summit brand radiators are great, but they are made by northern radiator.

those are torque thrust knock offs and i wouldnt be the least surprized to find out they were made by a reputable company. the summit stuff is cheap but its not garbage.

Re: Summit Racing wheels

yes, i am very satisfied

the center caps that came with the wheels were ugly plastic pieces of crap though, but i had some chrome eagle alloys caps laying around. i a actually cut the front ones for the hubs

Those look exactly like the Cragar wheels I had on my 90 Z71. I know somebody else made a wheel that looked just like them too but can't remember what brand it was. I think it was American Racing so that wouldn't surprise me if the OP's Summit wheels were Cragar or ARE wheels too.

I think there were a lot of copies made of that exact wheel.

I was actually looking at these wheels last night and was wondering about the overall quality. Summit has a warehouse near me here in Atlanta and I am going to try and go by there this weekend to look at them.;)

Re: Summit Racing wheels

I worked for summit racing for a few years and still work for a high profile mail order speed shop. The truth is nothing is manufactured by summit, If a company has a overrun in production, summit or my employer will snap the lot up for a discount if we get the whole run. Then it was a matter of re-packaging the parts. A few years back when i was there the "summit" brand iron heads were actually dart iron eagles, the rocker arms were harland sharp, headers made by flowtech, and the list keeps going on and on. They finally got smart and payed extra on some products like carbs to get tooling made to stamp their name on certain parts.
