Let's See Some Straight 6's
Hey guys, I was watching Gearz today on Speed and Stacey had a crate 292 on there that he set up for a hot rod. After I saw this I got to wondering, "How many guys on the forum have an I6 in their truck?" Well, let's see some straight 6's.

I meant to give this one the Clifford treatment. Red flagged by the integrated intake.

Beautiful truck dswancutt. Custom Deluxe base models pickups with painted bumpers and hubcaps are always refreshing to see in this era. Base models during the '70's was the minority, the majority where loaded models. These trucks have a unique character, character that will never be seen agian from Detroit. The 250 is iceing on the cake!

Re: Let's See Some Straight 6's
It is a pretty good old truck, has a few flaws but is basically a toy for me. I bought the truck at an auction for $900.00. It was used by the local irrigation company to spray the weeds in the irrigation canals during the summer. It only has 46,000 miles on it. It is a bare bones model and only has the heavy duty suspension and brakes, automatic, PS, PB and 3.73 rear end. It still had the original bias ply tires on it when I bought it as well as the axle code tag on the brake drum. I had to completely redo the brakes and have added a period correct factory AM/FM radio. Will be installing a new windshield with the antenna in the next few weeks. Neat thing was I was fueling it up one day and an older gentleman who had worked for the irrigation district came up and said he remembered when they bought this truck and an identical red one. Was interesting to get a little history on the truck.

Amazing how much room is under the hood with the inline 6!

You can pick up a 292 head fairly cheap. Then you can go the clifford route! |
