I have three wires. orange, yellow, and black. The switch has 4 connector points Drivers side one obove the other, passenger side two side by side.

Re: Need heater wiring help 1960
I`m looking at the AIM manual, it dosen`t show crap, showing a brown lead from the fuse block to the switch, then what it dosen`t tell is what three wires from the switch go to the resistor, (defrost element in the blower box) then one orange from the resistor to the fan motor..maybe this will help..:smoke:

Re: Need heater wiring help 1960
It took a while to find anything, but this outfit sells a heater harness for the 1960 Chevy truck for $20. Part number is 38071. It might be worth 20 bucks just to know how to hook it up. Or perhaps with a phone call they might be willing to tell you how it connects.

I have this, but I can't find the heater switch on it. Weird. Am I just missing it?

Re: Need heater wiring help 1960
Thanks for all the info, mine must have been worked on. It has three individual spade conectors. The diagram of back of switch matches mine.
62gmc910 thanks for the pic if connector. One of mine might be blue or brown instead of black (wires old and dirty). I only see three wires exposed, one might be cut short. It just had a toggle set up for on/off. Appreciate all the help. |
