small block frame mount question
Howdy Folks,
I have a 1969 c-10 i am swapping an LQ9 into using the motor mount adapter plates available all over the net. I am planning on using new stock rubber mounts and now just need the frame plates. The truck currently has a straight 6. Are the frame mounts the same between the small block and the inline 6? I searched all of the parts stores and no one lists the frame plates for the small block, just the big block plates or a complete conversion kit for gen3/4 small block. Thanks! Mike |
Re: small block frame mount question
The 6 and small block frame mounts are quite different.
Here are some pictures I took to compare the two... http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...1&d=1241452331 http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...1&d=1241452477 http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...1&d=1241452571 http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...1&d=1241452631 http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...1&d=1241452800 |

Re: small block frame mount question
Kevin,
While you have the mounts out, something I've always wondered... Will the 6 cyl mounts fit in the front holes if you reverse sides? TIA LockDoc |

this is the drivers side frame. all frame perches for the drivers side are the same. the rear one looks correct for 63-66. it fit in the frt set of holes for a 230-250 i6 and the rear 2 holes for a 283 for a stk application. not sure which holes the 292 mounts to as there is an offset from one side to the other, but is the same perch. the front one looks like a pass side perch moved over as it flows the wrong way, unless it comes off of a later model(which I am not familiar with). no wonder that there is so much confusion about these mounts ron |
