Stuck brake pedal 60 apache

Hi all, having an issue with my brake pedal.. Finally after some time with a catalyst and pouding I got the shaft out and have the pedal out.. One would think with years the bushings would wear and cause play yet mine is a different story. This thing is sticky to beat the band. I cleaned the shaft up nice and attempted to assemble it on the bench and its so tight I would have to pound it back together..? I am going to pick up some new bushings just because I have it apart but I do not think that is my problem, anyone have this before? I was going thin out the shaft some but wanted to ask if anyone had a resolution before I messed with what worked for the last 50 years.. Thank you

BigR

Rust has probably built up between the out side of the old bushing and the housing I you find a good solid wood dowel abuot 1/2 the diameter of the shaft cut a slit inthe dowel them side a piece of sand paper into the slit chuck it in a drill twist it into the hole and spin it with the drill you should be able to clean the hole for your new bushing

I haven't had that problem before. If you don't get it figured out, bring it by the shop next chance you get and I'll take a look at it.
