Rim back spacing?

Stock 12bolt under 71 LWB with Drum brakes.
what BS will work?

Will a Weld ProStar 15x10 7.5BS with a 275/60/15 Hoosier DR work?

I probably will have to get an adaptor since i have 5x5 and the rims are 5x4.75.

I want to see what the truck will do with the 6.0 in it and I know the street tires have no chance....truck is not set up to DR that is for sure so it should be hilarious!!!

Re: Rim back spacing?

My truck is a 82, so it might be different. I used a 15X10 with 4.5BS and it put the tire just inside the fender lip and left me several inches on the inside of the tire. I would think 7.5BS would tuck that rim pretty deep and close to the frame. Right?

Re: Rim back spacing?

got someone else wanting to get rid of some 15x8 Telstars with 4.5" BS and 5x5 botl pattern. will these work?

I am guessing that if I get this thing on track then I will eventually want the 15x10s so I can get a tire back there for traction.

15x10 with 4.5 to a 5.5" of backspacing looks pretty good. i also believe a 7.5" would be to much for a 10" rim, but perfect for a 12" rim... the telestars will work..

It sounds like maybe you could run a 2" spacer/adapter and come out with the correct fit. But I'm not sure how safe that is. I know a guy on another forum that did that with some 4-3/4 wheels on his fullsize. He raced with them and everything(I believe it was an 11sec truck). He told me to just make sure I buy quality spacers/adapters and inspect them constantly. But I don't remember who makes the adapters he used.
