Back in the game!!! Bout daym time!
I dont think words can really describe the stoke I have right now! So as some of you know this past year has been a hell of a roller coaster for me. Without going into it too much just like most here times have been tough. I finally picked up a new ride, another 65' c10 lwb! After the heartache of my old one coming up missing.... http://www.ruffrodders.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40419 (couldnt find my old thread here) Im back in the game with a new daily/project.
Shes a lil rough around the edges in appearance but she runs STRONG!!! It has a 350 matched to a 3spd on the tree and 12bolt rear. Ran it on the highway today at a steady 60-70mph and she held tough and smooth, no heating or weird vibrations. All electrical works and even has working heater, OG radio is in place too(not working)!! Since the truck is pretty solid mechanically I want to tackle the body work and get a low budget drop on it ASAP!!! So anyone that can lend a hand in a lil dent pulling and primering hit me up! Here it is, check it out http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...ewTruck031.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...ewTruck030.jpg had to pick up a xmas tree for the lil lady on the way home, lol http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...ewTruck029.jpg |

Re: Back in the game!!! Bout daym time!
Yah, this one is running like a champ so Im going to leave her be for awhile in the motor department. For now I want to tackle this surface rust and straighten out the bedsides a bit.
She by no means has plans of being a beauty queen. I just want it to look half way descent. Within the next 4 months I hope to have just maintanence stuff done. Like theres some loose wiring under the dash, exhaust looks crappy so some new pipes, tune up on motor with new plugs, wires, cap/rotor, hoses, etc. Fun thing that will be done by weekend hopefully is new mirrors and lowered. Have a set of chevelle rear springs and going to chop 1.5 coils off the front. Like they say though, once you go big block you dont look back so by next summer trust another one will be finding its way in my garage. |
Re: Back in the game!!! Bout daym time!

Re: Back in the game!!! Bout daym time!
Good lookin' truck Adam. I wonder if those dents in the lower bed panels can be popped out from underneath?
Oh, and I know you want to lower it ASAP, but before you start that.... please get rid of that Toyota front license plate frame  |

Salazar44- Hey Vic, you think we can get it atleas halfway smooth? I found a straight bed on CL for only $175, should I jump on it of can we just try and smooth this one out....? So excited about this daym thing that Im up at the crack of dawn to start cleaning it up, theres a huge amount of dust/dirt in the cab and loose trash. Even though the motor is strong, she is in need of a sauna!!! maybe next week Ill take it do a pressure washer and blast off as much gunk as I can, any suggestions on getting the old dirt off the engine? Im more concerned about not frying electrical with water. Quick history on the truck, I bought it from the original owner!!! He got it when he was 16 and has been driving it ever since. The truck has only gone through 2 trans (both 3 spd) and the 350 replaced the original L6 a few years back. Its a California car and he took really good care of it. The rockers, corners and floors are solid. Only stuff wrong is bed wood, surface rust and the dings here and there...oh and upholstery could use a redo. Im stoked on it!!! |
Re: Back in the game!!! Bout daym time!
looks like a good truck. I am still waiting to paint the firewall on my truck so i can stick that big block in for good. I also picked up a 66 long bed.
