That's only about the rarest 67-68 model you'll ever see - except perhaps a 4X4 Panel. I think they were dropped after 68-69. It's the cowl/chassis model. I'll try to find some production numbers.

If that's a factory 3/4 ton 127 inch cowl, There were only 12 made in 68.

There were 238 133 inch 1 ton cowls made.

It looks like 68 was the last year of the cowl model.

Someone posted a picture of a camper that looked to be a cowl model a couple of years ago. I can't remember who.

Yeah, I saw it at wally world and I thought, man, that's cool!!! So I went back to my place to get my camera and snapped a couple of pics, that thing was in awesome shape, considering this is the rust belt, the dash wasn't original though, had a couple of big a$$ gauges in it, wish I had stay and talked to the owner, buy I had to leave, may be I'll see it again later.

I believe cowl models came with different gauges as well, so those you saw may have been correct.

that's cool. would be a fun camper/cruiser, but where's the 20s?

BRINKS!!! I have a dream, that one day, everyone will be equipped with these type of trucks as armored trucks. That way our money will be safe. Because you know no one will wanna jack one of these be-u-ti-ful trucks.

Man, that rig would be sweet to haul parts to the swap meet with. I see it has a texas plate, maybe that would explain the lack of rust.

There's one up here... but its been picked at and sat quite a bit and no where probably ever going to see the road again.

I have seen a number of older than that trucks that were "cowl" panels, but never seen one as new as 68. In fact, there is a couple of 48-50 cowl trucks around where i live in Maine, in various shape. Some baked, some on the road. Most on the road trucks have been made into "hippie" campers, as we call them.

Our data shows for 1tons that in 1967 there were 8 cowl/windshield models made and 366 chassis cowl models.
In 1968 the cowl/windshield model was no longer produced and that there were 238 chassis cowl models.
In 1969 there were 236 chassis cowl models and that this was there final year.
So has anyone ever seen one of the cowl/windshield models? The VIN # on these 7 was CS31012
