Front Passenger side sits higher.....

i put a 3/3 drop on my truck a few weeks ago and really love the stance. i used Bell Tech 3" drop spindles and shackles and hangers in the back. i didn't notice anything at first, but a friend pointed out to me that the front passenger side sits about 1/2" to 3/4" higher than the driver side. i measured when i got home and he was right. i didn't mess with the coils or leaves at all when installing the kit.
the truck rides fine and everything, i just never noticed. i may take it to my tire shop today and ask about it. But is there anything i can do to level it out?

i realized that it probably looks a little funny when i drive down the road and the driver side is even lower!

I have heard of this before and it is something from the factory from I am told. The factory gm lean. Mine is bagged and notice one side still sits lower until it lays on the ground.

are the coils seated properly? there are notches and spots that the coils fits into, if they are not in the right clocking or seat they will change the hieght.

I'm going to be doing the same drop on mine soon. I'll have to look close to see if anything changes. Did you change the rear axle spring hangers?

Throw a spacer on there to fix the problem, thats what most guys do.. 10$s at autozone.

i think he mean coil spacer
under the left coil so the driver side will lift up

It was probably like that before you added the spindles. Not uncommon, just annoying once you notice it.

You can trim a little off the passenger side coil spring for free.
(1/2 coil = approx. 1" of drop)
I would take off about 1/4 coil.

Also,... which side is the gas tank on or do you have dual tanks?

GMC Guy 12-25-2009 03:59 PM

Re: Front Passenger side sits higher.....

i have dual tanks, and ironically at the time my friend noticed it, i had just put about 10 gallons on the driver side. maybe that's what did it?

and if i was to cut a little of the coil, what is the best method?

Re: Front Passenger side sits higher.....

I use a electric grinder with a thin cut-off wheel. (1/32" or 1/16" thick)
Also, cut the bottom of the spring,... not the top.
