Rad. overflow tank/Windshield washer btl.

Has anyone tried using the windshield washer tank as a overflow tank for the radiator?
The last project I did I totally rebuilt the windshield washer system and have never used it, so I plan on elimating all the lines to it on this project.
My "67 has the washer bottle mounted on the radiator support.

Re: Rad. overflow tank/Windshield washer btl.

I have one on mine. I epoxied a nipple to the bottom of the bottle and ran a hose from it to the nipple on the rad. Then, I put a 2 inch long piece of hose on nipple on the bottom of the bottle's cap. Then routed another piece of hose from the outside of the cap towards the bottom of the engine compartment somewhere (can't remember exactly where it exited). This way the rad can fill/drain the bottle from the bottom no problem, and if it gets too much in it, it'll push it out the hose instead of popping the cap or overflowing around the cap.
Mine isn't mounted on the core support though, it's mounted on the passenger side fender, directly across from where the washer bottle is supposed to be on the drivers fender.
