Re: 5 ton gmc lifted?what?
That looks like a 5500 to me. But I may be wrong. But I do not think that is a 5 ton truck. Someone else will know for sure.

Re: 5 ton gmc lifted?what?
to me it looks like a regular dually truck lifted with them wheels and tires and like those fender things and mirrors on it haha...if you look all that black is something in the background,
confusing o.O i thought it was interesting |
Re: 5 ton gmc lifted?what?
Looks like a C60 medium duty truck that was shortened (or maybe it was the right length already ?) and had a 1 ton truck bed stuck on it. I've heard of this being done before. Makes for one beefy pickup truck.

Re: 5 ton gmc lifted?what?
yup, all the rage right now.
ask big ass trucks on the this board he has like 10 of them. super simple to make. c whatever the hell you feel like + matching bed = enjoy. some will swap burban bodies, crew cabs all kinds of neat things being done now. |
Re: 5 ton gmc lifted?what?
looks pretty tall, around here the tree trimming guys use that era truck with a power front axle. that would make for one beefy pickup

"Sailing" should be your first indication.
A 5 ton is the chassis that is used on military trucks. www.BigAssTrux.com or go to this link discussing Army Trucks for sale. http://farmbureaulies.com/ForSale.aspx http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...75#post3700275 |

Re: 5 ton gmc lifted?what?
That truck on craigslist looks like maybe a C50, about a 1 1/2 ton or so.

Re: 5 ton gmc lifted?what?
Ya know ...... my work bought one of those from FEMA. It was a '78 & had 19K on a 8V92TT with a RR10 speed with a 26' box on the chassis. It was bought for the box. I had the pleasure of driving it around every few days & ended selling it for $5K. If I had the $$ at the time I would have shortened the rails & added the p/u dually box.
They are SUPER heavy duty as a pick up. Ratty 46 |
