Extendable bumper

Just found out that the bumper on my new truck will extend out almost 4 feet. Does anyone else have one like this and other than camper what do you use it for.

that is the extremly rare "tailgate" option it makes it so when sitting back having a cold one on your tailgate you can extend the bumper out as a foot rest

A tailgate footrest?
very interesting
should we give that its own option code?
Maybe I could leave it 4 feet out and use rubber pins to lock in place and call it a 5 mph bumper

I saw a bumper like that on a longhorn last week. It wasn't a factory bumper. The owner didn't even know that there was really anything unusual about his truck. I complemented him on it and he was very rude, so I didn't talk to him anymore. Actually, he was the first rude 67-72 owner I have run into. Anyway, the bumper looked like the one in the picture, and it had a sticker for a company that used to make that kind of stuff.
